Probably because the Ole Miss community would've killed them. It Just Means More.As much as I dislike Kiffin, sounds like sour grapes. Why didn’t they do it prior to him leaving?
I get that, but hiring an OL coach before the OC sounds a bit backwards.Sounds like “no, the OC hasn’t been hired”. Sorry, but this is probably going to take a while

ummm nah....the blocking scheme is what it is. OC is the plays and overall scheme. You can only block a few ways, zone or gap. The OL coach is far more about fundamentals and executing each scheme which the OC will call out....they are far more unrelated but yet related, than people think. If that makes sense. OL coaches can work for any OC....you don't have an OL coach that can only work for this OC's scheme....its far more dynamic. Same goes for most position coaches to be honest......I get that, but hiring an OL coach before the OC sounds a bit backwards.
Saw this comin’. Also, I think his daughter plays VB here.
Key also said he’s looking for an OC that’s a good fit. We have a decent idea of what our offense should look like and are hiring to that ideaummm nah....the blocking scheme is what it is. You need to. Gt needs an offense that can succeed without elite OL talent. Never have had that. Probably never will.Key also said he’s looking for an OC that’s a good fit. We have a decent idea of what our offense should look like and are hiring to that idea
The fact he is still looking says Weinke is either leaving or doesn’t want it. He may just like working with the quarterbacks and collaborating with the offensive staff.Key also said he’s looking for an OC that’s a good fit. Or gets locked in a room full of coeds.Kiffin will be fine. As long as he beats Texas, A&M, Bama, Georgia, Florida, and Vandy. And doesn’t get upset.

There is some precedent for doing it this way (with a coach who spent 1 year at App State, no less).I get that, but hiring an OL coach before the OC sounds a bit backwards.

It was definitely a talent issueI didn’t watch App State play this year but judging by their offensive stats (3.6 yards per rush 112th nationally) let’s hope they just had no talent lol
Key knew the guy he wanted for the position. As a former OL Coach himself, I have no reason to not trust his decision making on this one (Not to mention Key has forgotten more about football than I'll ever know).I get that, but hiring an OL coach before the OC sounds a bit backwards.
