FWIW, I read an article saying that Coach Prime might be going back to his Alma Mater.
I heard he was going to Dallas Cowboys.

Given the expectations of FSU, I don't envy Norvell's position. Who would have thought GT would be in a stronger position after 2024?
FSU is like Auburn and maybe Fla...a good looking job - but only on paper. There are structural problems at both schools (too many chiefs, not enough Indians or said another way, it's unclear whether the programs are run by boosters or the AD) that make each NOT a place where success is sustainable imo. Yes, give them a Cam Newton or Jameis Winston you may catch lightning in a bottle (but that is true of so many other schools as well). I am surprised that an up and comer like Norvell at the time settled for that job, unless it was all about the $$$. But again, you can get FSU money elsewhere. Of course, when Norvell leaves (whether voluntarily or not) there will be someone who thinks that they are different than the predecessors who thinks that they can do the job where others could not. FSU (like Auburn) needs to hire a seasoned vet like Saban who can come in and demand and get structural changes if they want to end the cycle of hiring/firing coaches. Saban created a structure and culture both inside and outside the walls of his program where success could be achieved.

I mean how are they going to afford leaving the ACC if they spend all their money on firing coaches?
They've got a couple of problems don't they?
Smartest thing they could do now is drop the lawsuit. Things are likely to change with conference affiliations anyway.

There is no evidence at all that FSU is considering Weinke, nor would the move make any sense for either side.

How about we pay them and not lose them. J Batt is not related to Alex A as far as I know.

I really cannot see any attraction for Santucci to F$U at this point. Same for Faulkner. Wieke maybe, but not likely.

Yeah… I caught some of that scuttlebutt a couple days ago. Tried to ignore it, but just to be safe, can someone please steal his cell phone, cut his office line and hack his email account?
His name is going to come up very often by multiple teams when musical chairs for coaches gets going. So is Faulkner as well as Weinke. FSU is in turmoil now and the only thing saving Norvell is that 10 year contract he got last year. Their AD is a complete moron on par with our former AD with that contract. The ACC lawsuit is a joke for them now the way this season went. Their media pundits don't even mention it now. It doesn't seem to be going well for them these days. Recruiting is in the toilet as well.

No doubt. It’s a risk associated with the ongoing success of our program. It’s a good sign if other programs want to do what we’re doing. I hope we can fight and retain the good ones but even more so, I hope we can be one of those programs that can continually find / develop / promote great assistant coaches. That’s truly the definition of a “program” and thats the ultimate goal.

Especially when it seems clear, if the buyout wasnt so large, they'd shart-can Norvell today.

After this year, buyout gets a little less, and that inevitability remains (i.e. that Norvell is on borrowed time).

Fast forward to the offseason, what's the 'fix' for him to save himself? More transfers in. Why would anyone think it's gonna end better this time around?

You’d have to be crazy or desperate to join the fsu flaming dumpster, unless- Weinke is playing 5d chess and has a masterplan to become interim after Norvell inevitably gets canned and win the job outright like Key did.

If Norvell can somehow turn it around next year they’ll build him a statue in Tallahassee.

I don't see Santucci going to FSU, that's a lateral move into a dumpster fire. He'll either go into a G5 HC role from here or to a proper powerhouse DC position that gets vacated by a DC moving up to HC, and I doubt that happens this offseason.
