I was just perusing GC's twitter feed and noticed something posted yesterday that caught my eye. According to this here, there won't be a standard depth chart, but players listed as either "ATL" ("Above The Line", ie playing) or not. Interesting...

I like this, especially if it means rotating all of the #ATL guys in and out. FWIW, Clemson does this and the players are engaged because they know if they work, they play - and they are not shallow at spots - if you work and play, you are expected play at the same level as what others call first string.

OT: all bets are off. It’s going to come down to who can most quickly pick up pass and zone run blocking (slightly different, but somewhat similar to elements of TO OL play). I think Quinney has the length / reach to be a solid LT. But I’m reluctant to anoint him given how poorly he pass blocked last year. That could’ve been scheme / coaching, but after the bowl game / COFH, I don’t think anyone aside from Parker Braun, J. Thomas, and our specialists deserve the benefit of the doubt. I like Defoor as a RT and Southers as a swing tackle. But any combo of the 3 could start.

Inside OL: any combo of Braun, Cooper, Lee, Minihan, Hansen could work. IMO - Cooper is more physical than Lee, Minihan, and Hansen...I like him moving to guard.

WDE: I really like Luke Johns At WDE. That guy’s HS film showed a lot of bend and quickness. Dingle could be intriguing if he can bend.

LB / Safety: just give me 4 dudes who can tackle, take logical angles to the ball, and fill gaps. We haven’t had that in years. Don’t care who they are. But I’m just tired of watching straight garbage.

J. Thomas: he is the wildcard. I could see him at safety, slot, CB, RB. We have a lot of “safety-like” bodies. Maybe we could better utilize his balls skills elsewhere.

Nice post.
If cgc told u we need 1 or 2 guys from ol to go to dt and be a disruptive force who would u pick.??
I think hansen has good low charge and good arm strength?

I think we have a decent two-deep at DT. The freshman DT that turned OL (Smith?) would be a logical candidate for an OL->DT position change. I think the biggest gap on Defense is WDE and LBs / Safeties that are worth a damn. We have plenty of bodies at LB / Safety, but I have seen a lot of productivity.
