Grades through three games - and an exhibition, prior to this run of big conference games.
Coach Stoudamire/Staff: B- (said Offense ahead of Defense; first halves and last game make fans question Coach’s judgment).
Miles: C, yes, he had some strong halves, but consistency and reliability - and free throws! - he’s not instilling confidence yet.
Gapare: D-, and that’s kind. He has ton of skills and potential, but seems like a redshirt, why is he starting? Really poor decisions, especially on D. Hope he comes around.
Reeves: B+, he brings a lot of skill. Just a little more consistency and we’re good. Love his attitude.
Amare: C-, thought he could challenge for leading scorer; seems lost and what happened to shooting touch?
Claude: B+, some of his athleticism is below ACC level, but he seems like he will provide stats every game. Maybe uptick with conditioning.
Deebo: A, he looks leaner and quicker. Really pulling for him, and A for embracing role.
Sturdivant: B, he’s been solid, and prob deserves the start; he “runs” the team and nice Asst/TO ratio. Hopefully continues against bigger guards.
Sacko: B-, a little undersized for current role, but in just his first few college games, the potential is def there. Strong body.
Dowuona: C, not expecting offense, but offers skill others on active roster don’t have.
Murphy: C-, prob not enough on D to get on court. Will need to hit streaky 3s for time.
George/Souare: no grade. Unknown in real games.
Terry: TBD, expect he will contribute for sure.
Ndongo: TBD; concerned there is so much talk of him being a difference maker, but hopeful. Just hate to see undue pressure on kid who was not expected to be stat stuffer, but mentioned as will have impact when we get him back. Seems unfair to expectations.
Forrest: N/A currently.

Agree with grades?

Coaching - C. Pre-season work was pretty good. Took too long to get the staff together imo but a solid staff. Good get in Abram from the portal and flipping Ndongo. Solid get in Reeves but not sure wing was a priority we needed to address. Some questionable takes in Gapare and Dowuona. Also good start to the class of 24. In season has been unimpressive with a 2-1 record against 3 should win teams with overall lack luster play and questionable line ups.

Kelly - B. Has been frustrating at times, but he is averaging 21 and 6 with 2 assists and 1.3 steals. The shooting is the only thing keeping him from an A but he's turned it on a couple times when need be and doing a lot else for us.
Gapare - F. No real way around this to me. Still early though.
Reeves - A. Bad game last outing but overall he's seemed to force his shot less than he did at UF and is doing better about distributing more (positive A/T). Early on still but that was the biggest concern. So far about as good as we could have asked him to be to me. Also 8/9 on FTS.
Amare - D. Bad shooting and a 1 to 1 A/T isn't a good look. High potential but hasn't shown it yet. Hopefully yet is the key word.
Claude - B-. Great game against Howard but imo the games against GSU and UMassL are games where he should thrive and shooting under 40% has some concerns against ACC opponents.
Deebo - A. he's shooting 62.5% from the field and 56.3% from three in route to a very efficient 16 a game. Seen the bounceback I was hoping to see after last year.
Sturdivant - B. Would like to see his 3 point shot be a bit more of a weapon but averaging 10 a game on 46.7% shooting and over 3 to 1 A/T ratio is good.

Nobody else really feels like they deserve a grade. Sacko has done some nice things but feels more like an I because anything we can get from him feels like extra at this point.

Maybe CDS is playing for the future;; let the younguns play to get experience because Terry, Kelly and Sturdivant wont be here next year. May be a good long term move, but it will suck this year.

You may be right, but Miles and Sturdy are playing big minutes, and Terry is still hurt.

I think CDS is experiencing with combinations to see which are most effectively.
