Did UVA run a triple option play against us?

at the 1:47:30 mark, they also run a neat little RPO off an inside zone read.

Gets about 8 yards. It puts our CB, OLB, and S at conflict. It could have also been a screen/smoke route depending on who the CB chooses to defend. Really cool package of plays in one.

BTW, we ran that same diamond with Vad back in 2013. Lots of things you can do out of that formation...and out of our formation. Offenses are only limited by a coach's imagination.

We also played Bronco's BYU that year.

That play worked because there were multiple OL 5+ yards down field. Should have been an easy flag, but I guess the ACC decided to stop enforcing that rule when Clemson started using the RPO.

Well, our offense only works because of the illegal chop blocks we use. :)

I thought the same thing live but couldn’t tell in the broadcast replay. Watching it again, that was really bad.

What is really interesting is that in the last couple of games, the only illegal cut block called was against Miami. If you listen to fans of other teams, no other team in the ACC cut blocks except for GT. Even when Miami cuts back toward the ball(and actually almost a clip), it doesn't sink in to other fans that their teams cut block also.

Yup. I think history has shown anytime the other team makes a big deal about it, they end up getting an illegal chop block call on them during the game. It happened several times when Frank Beamer was coaching VT...which is funny...
