I think no. 6 is likely the most important factor.

But what do I know …

After thinking about it, #6 (Lack of player talent) is a reason we aren't in the top third. But in my mind it can't be a significant factor in why we are at the bottom the last two years. I don't follow other teams like ours to make a comparison, but we have players who had perceived talent in HS.

Looking at this, I forgot how highly ranked Samol was. No wonder he has seen a bunch (5) of appearances.

Edit: Any word on Logan Bogue? He's on roster.

Samol's last appearance was much improved as has been Schmolke the last two times out. Hopefully this trend continues and gives us much needed depth for the rest of the season. Also having Hill back at full strength will either give us another starter or a long reliever or even possibly a second closer on days when we need to rest Busse.

Seems to me Samol will continue to get opportunities in the non-conference midweek games as the season progresses. He’s definitely a work in progress.

Schmolke has really improved over the past two games, so it’s possible Samol can improve, too. It may be that it’s simply taking Samol a bit longer, but hopefully the light bulb will come on and he’ll get there.

Agree that these two guys are the most likely to improve the most in the short time remaining (2 months) of the season. Let's hope :buzz:
