Helpful - I like to compare Ks, K/BB ratio amd BA to get a feel for how much swing/miss and command/control a pitcher has. A bit concerned about Chicoli's early numbers in this regard relative to the others. The good news is he's not walking a bunch (which probably explains his higher IP as this coaching staff appears to have a quicker hook this season - not sure that's statistically accurate though....). The bad news is he's not fooling batters so far with his stuff. But of course it's very early...
He's still so green when it comes to facing college batters. He's got a changeup that definitely plays at this level and has probably been his biggest whiff pitch thus far. The other stuff is solid, but that pitch will get him places.
His worst game came against the worst team he's faced (West Georgia), but none of the teams he's faced are bad - all have winning records. I think his best came came against maybe the best team he's faces (State). It was also his most recent start. He's only given up 5 xbh in 11.0 ip. That's not great (essentially 1 almost every other inning), but for a freshman it's also not terrible. It's also promising that none have come in his last 5.0 ip. I think he's progressing nicely and profiles as a weekend guy next year.
