Team and coaching staff getting plenty of kudos elsewhere. Key mentioned the great atmosphere in post-game presser too.

Maybe it is easier at 8:00 kickoff, but crowd (including students) was into the game beginning to end. Fantastic to see recruits section being engaged with the atmosphere. Students deserve credit for bringing it!

Thanks to everyone who didnā€™t wait for 3rd downs to make some noise on defense!

The security ***** who flat out picked two poor saps to tackle to the ground while scores of people are running by on either side of them should never be put in such a position of having potential power over others again. He also held them on the ground for a minute or so after the tackle- to what? Show you are a badass for tackling a clueless drunk that you outweigh by 30 lbs?

I saw that too and was thinking the security guy was lucky he didn't get jumped by that mob of students. That dude was definitely on a power trip.

I believe that some of those guys play baseball at Georgia Highlands, but I'm not 100% certain of that. I don't know if that one guy fits in that group or not. But someone definitely needs to make sure he never sets foot in our stadium again. There was no call for what he did.

One would think that every security guy would know that the students ā€” and other GT fans ā€” were fixing to jump onto the field to swarm and celebrate the upset victory over North Carolina ā€¦ and that there was nothing they (all security guys) could do anything about it, anyway.

You know, like, use common sense.šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Not to mention that was pretty chill and orderly as far as running on the fields go.

If you watch the longer video, Kenyatta (#2) is basically running traffic control and telling the security goons to chill. Just an embarrassing look for that security crew.

Youā€™d think there would be some sort of pre game meeting or memo for security for college games that statesā€¦in the event that is very clear that 1000s of people are about to rush the fieldā€¦donā€™t touch anyone.

When there are that many people rushing the field, and itā€™s clear that itā€™s a thing, and no one is upset about it, yet one rogue security guy tries to takedown some poor innocent sorority girlā€¦something is wrong with that guy.

When a crowd is moving one of the most dangerous things that can happen is when people fall to the ground. You can start a chain reaction of tripping and falling causing serious injuries. Sounds like these security guards made the situation less safe not more safe.

They might have considered facing the crowd, holding their arms out, and repeating over and over ā€œslow down.ā€

They really care about the goal post being torn down more than anything. Crowd was not threatening to do that.

Has anyone who witnessed/recorded this event complained to J Batt? This should be corrected.
i get a GTAA "how did you like the game experience email" and gave them my opinion.

1. stupid look - guys with nothing to do.

2. reminded them of the gt cops shooting the gt student ($1,000,000 settlement for a claim of over policing).

3. POST GAME i told them about another excess incident . The guy driving the RIOT VEHICLE WAS BLOWING HORN, FLASHING BLUE LIGHTS AND SIERN. He wanted to get people out of way so he could move 100 feet to the place "so he could lead" the ambulance out of tunnel under the North Stands area. . I thought it was a terror incident - then I saw it was a just a guy with a toy. Folks saw the ambulance and cleared out and the armored vehicle leading the ambulance moved 200 feet up to Techwood drive . There speed and lack of sirens as they left the area indicated there was no emergency .

4. No one was hurt, but it looked like we go from ZERO to full riot like in 1. and 2.

5. Our written security plan for ambulance exit needs to be the 2 guys in 1 should go lead the ambulance out. I assume our written plan says the armor car , its siren, and blue lights are for hostile events.

I took a picture of him but itā€™s not great since it was from so far away. My girlfriend and I saw it too. It was crazy. Heā€™d pick out someone who wasnā€™t looking and spear tackle them. Did it at least twice and well after every other ā€œguardā€ could clearly understand that weā€™re not stopping anyone anymore. It was crazy. Heā€™s the guy in black shirt with white sides, black pants talking to the guy in navy shirt, shorts.

Ngl, not even sure what the outrage is for? Once you set foot on the field, you make yourself fair game.

Was the security(sic) guard wrong? Yep but the tacklee knew the risks and chose them himself.

What I think security should've done in that situation was turn toward escorting the players and coaches off safely rather than tryna keep the fans off the field. So, yes, I think this is a bad look and a bad job by them.

But I find it hard to weep for someone that got decleated. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I agree with with the sentiment that if you choose to go down there you might get taken off in any manner. I love videos of the lone field stormer getting tackled as much as anyone. This wasnā€™t that.
It wasnā€™t that I felt bad for the kids even. It was way more the mindset of this loser guard that was literally standing there as dozenā€™s of people ran by him, would wait, scan the area, pick out a smaller person who he made sure wasnā€™t looking towards him and then spear them just for fun. Thatā€™s what we were pissed about. I actually went down to let him know what I thought but couldnā€™t find him by the time I got down there
