Oh gawd no don't say that sir

Oh gawd no don't say that!
I think JHD is going to be okay. But, the reason I keep sounding the alarm is because it's not nearly the slam-dunk a lot of people think this is going to be. It's going to be close. I am optimistic we'll have him. But, I'm optimistic like 51% yes vs 49% no.

If he regains his eligibility, there will be no grander celebration among fans than the one at our house. I'm pulling for him.

A moment of genuine humor as the Paul Finebaum show came on. The guy subbing for Finebaum had done his homework.

Screen capture here. You won't be able to click 'play.'

All done but finals. Finals do a lot of students in. I hope he had lots of help preparing for them. We are going to know in a week if not sooner.

Call me crazy but CPJ seemed more relaxed / confident last year in the preseason than in years prior. Seems just as relaxed this year. Anyone else get that vibe as well?

Agree, it's like he knows something no one else does and he can't wait for everyone to see. Could be reading into it but he's not doing the whole dampering expectations thing he usually does. He just kind of agrees and states he hopes the media is right.

Body language, tone of voice, smiles...you're absolutely right. He did appear particularly relaxed. Genuinely so.

When you take into account how late he was getting there (plane trouble), that's all the more remarkable.

Amazing how relaxed you can be when you just came off an 11 win Orange Bowl season, got a contract extension paying you the third most in the conference, and you have JeT returning as your stud QB.

Far cry from how we entered last season.

Agreed. Last year GT was picked so low that it wasn't hard to exceed the forecast. This year, the reason could be that he knows what he has in his returning players and in the cupboard. There is no reason to believe that the level of play from that group will diminish from where it left off after 2 warm up games to open the season.

This is an aura of confidence in himself and in his team. Sure is nice to be around. Can't wait. Be gone wretched offseason!!

Coming off the UGA and Orange Bowl wins certainly helps the mood. Tougher ground to plow this year with the schedule, but should have an enjoyable ride this year.
Regarding the CBS article, love how it seems they were quick to point out our record against the puppies ...

One of the seasoned players told me that CPJ was a straight shooter, would tell you the good and the bad, and you could always believe what he told you. He also said that he had changed a lot in 4/5 years. He was more personable and more involved with the players, and most especially was way more involved in the detailed coaching day to day, something he did not do much of when he first came into the program. He identified him as much more "relaxed" and he now often joked with the players. I was most surprised about the detailed coaching change.

CBS hates run-oriented teams and run-oriented QBs with a blood passion. It probably ties back to the perception that it's bad for business. Ironically, due to their political affiliation they also dislike rich folks, entrepreneurs and capitalists. So unless GT changes to a 5-wide spread and hires Robert Reich to run their job placement program, they won't be getting any love from Pete "I hope all option QB's get concussions" Prisco or any of the other pigeon-chested preeners who write for that site.

Perhaps now that CPJ has a solid staff and recruiting classes in place, he can focus more on day to day coaching.
