Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed the article. Monken has a tough job, build a program from scratch. Niumatalolo inherited a strong program.
... but CKN was on the staff from the beginning that rebuilt Navy into what they are. It's not like he walked in off the street when CPJ left and nothing to do with their ascendancy.

Todd spencer went to Army as ol line coach.
He is a good guy - was over whelmed at gt doing recruiting and ol.
Hope the smaller underdog Knights prevail.

Excellent article. You can read between the lines of Niumatalolo's remarks about "mixed feelings." "Why did Army have to go get a Flexbone coach, instead of dicking around like usual?"

Army has a giant disadvantage due to weight restrictions. Some linemen have to lose 50+ pounds before basic training. Navy's got the same issue but the restrictions are way more modest. I wonder if Monken has been working on West Point administration to close the gap, because a losing season (and getting beat down by heavier teams) is not a good recipe to prepare for the big one.
