D forced lots of turnovers, but when turnovers did not occur, they looked the same. They gave up over 500 yds. But, they gave effort the whole way.

O looked unstoppable in the first, 3rd, and 4th quarters, but had a bit of a "stop ourselves" quarter in the 2nd.

PJ looked happy, but we had some injuries, the scariest one right now is Perkins, who looked GREAT before he got hurt. Snoddy had a break out game. All of the A-backs got into the action.

They put it on the ground and we put it in the endzone. Our O played well. Our D is about the same. They are opportunistic, but need to bring pressure to get off the field.

Offense really couldnt be stopped. Killed them on the outside and Days punished them inside. Effective passing also. Really looked good on all aspects other than a fumble and a Byerly drive that was kind of out of rhythm.

Defense forced TOs, showed some improvements on 1st & 2nd down but still cant stop anybody on 3rd down.

Is our O the juggernaut it seems to be? Can we move it on any team like the lil joe days?

Next week will be a better measure. Pitt's D was inflated by playing bad Os.

Still, if we hit the FG we missed, we'd have scored 4 ppd which is dang good.

Everyone in the stands was in disbelief ...both Pitt and Tech fans...at the way the first quarter went.....with 10 minutes left in the 4th ....the stadium was empty except the Tech corner

I am not sure whether it was a scheme issue or an athlete issue, but Pitt did not do a good job containing the edges. Our A backs consistently found room to run on the outside. Their LB's and safeties seemed slow getting to the ball.

I really thought this game was going to be close - and without all of the Pitt turnovers it would have been - but it just seemed as though our offensive personnel were a match-up nightmare for Pitt's D. As a comparison, I cannot count the number of times Duke's defensive backfield made one on one tackles in space against our A backs. IMHO, that one factor limited our offensive output as much as the penalties and turnovers. OTOH Pitt seemed to never make one on one tackles. We ran up and down the field at will.
