I don't think he did. He's still DC. They just changed which position group he also coaches.

Edit: My bad. Forgot Steele wasn't DC for Clemson last season.

In 1996, the Georgia Southern head coaching job came down to Kevin Steele and Paul Johnson. Erk weighed in. Case closed.
