I actually thought this was one of the better (more substantial) changes/ideas of the CGC regime so far. The fact that the scout/developmental team will actually be developing in our system and running our stuff instead of just trying to mimic the other team's stuff through play cards seems like a really good idea. It also gives us a chance to compare our stuff to the other team and if we like something, we can add it to what we do (of course teams do this anyway, but this makes it a more organic way to do it through the developmental/scout team concept. Whatever the other team does, we probably have that in our system. This is a big advantage to being multiple on defense - we can be even/odd up front, have different personnel groupings, etc. We also should be able to replicate most team's stuff on offense as well. This is one the one advantage to doing what every other team in America does scheme-wise, so I see this as fully utilizing that advantage.
