4 HR's in an inning????? That's incredible and will necessitate further googling.
Nestor Cortez just today, in his first game as a Milwaukee Brewer against his former team (the Yankees), allowed a homerun on each of his first 3 pitches, plus another later in the inning, for a total of 4 in the 1st. Then he allowed at least one more in the 2nd. New York won the game 20-9.

It sucks to lose, but hard to feel like we weren't the better team. Errors killed us, but they definitely escaped with the series win here.

I agree. I am still very impressed with our pitching and we're going to be pushing for a host spot, imo. Spivey, Paden, and Patel is a heck of a pen.

Hopefully not for much longer. At least one of them has to take over Sundays at some point right? Although I honestly think Riley would be impactful in the pen too, so I don't think the pen would lose much. He just isn't going as long, but hopefully we wouldn't need him to ...

Oof, HBP and an unlucky bounce

Meh. More like a freshman still learning the position - gotta come up and get that ball. Most "unlucky bounces" are just taking the wrong hop. He needed to take a better angle on that ball to cut it off and get the better bounce. Tough play to his right though at a position that isn't his natural one.

To me, it looks like they're using Riley as an opener. Give us 2 or 3 innings and then give it to Paden. I'm not upset at that thought.

Unlucky bounce I was referring to was the one off Ballard’s glove

Dang. No shame losing a series to the #3 team in the land, but missed a chance to make a statement by sweeping the DH punctuated by that 8th inning comeback. Oh well, let’s keep stacking midweek wins and get 2/3 minimum from a mediocre Stanford next weekend
The only thing that worries me about that series is going cross country. This is going to be the toughest 2 week stretch for us just because of the travel.
