Cheating

Interesting article. Cheating was rampant in football and basketball in the '70's and '80's. I am sure it still goes on, but not like in those days.

A noted coach in the 1980's made the remark that in basketball cheating was the rule of he day and changing the rules would not help.
He said... "if you take away the 10 foot basket and replace it with round hold in the floor, every 3 1/2 foot 18 year old in the country would be
driving a new convertible before Labor Day". (That's the quote as I remember it.)

Chuck Reedy was Herschel Walker's recruiter for Clemson. He made the public statement that he knew he had lost Herschel when he drove into the HS parking lot and saw a new Trans-Am.
