This is a real indictment on the mutts, texas, miami, michigan, neuter dame and other perennially overrated teams.

So once again GT is at the fork in the road: we've got bump in recruiting going on this year, much like Chan had, but current performance (not counting this year so far) is dissatisfying & many want to can the coach. Does GT have enough patience to find out how the "experiment" for some or "investment" for others will play out? I for one would give it 4-5 more years and ride it out. It's a huge investment but no balls, no brass ring.

The Mutts are just screwed. No matter how good they recruit they couldn't perform as well as their recruiting. Bammer and a few others get the great athletes without the baggage. The Mutts get good athletes but they're thieves, dopers, drunks, etc. They can fire Rev and hire Saban and they'll still lose. You can look at USCe and what NC winning Spurrier can do for a program. You can get close, but the big boys will keep you from reaching the top. NC's are being managed these days by the big $$$$. and they're not part of the club. They're the perennial sideshow to hype the others around them.

Not necessarily. I think it's a bit skewed against those who recruit well. The better you recruit, the harder it is to "overperform" you're recruiting ranking and get over that line.
