Isn’t an OT loss closer by definition? So again, Texas has more right to stay in than SMU.

Anyways, it looks like the committee did the right thing and dropped Bama, not Texas nor SMU.
The right thing was to put both in and they did that. Letting Bama in, again, over either UTA or SMU would be wrong, IMO.

Isn’t that the exactly what I’ve been saying?

That was my original point as well. Texas clearly had a better argument to be in the CFP than SMU (irrespective of which team you think is better). The real discussion was whether Alabama had a better claim than SMU.

For me, clearly, the correct answer to that was SMU. Again, it doesn’t matter which team is “better”. Based on the stated methodology, SMU’s case was clearly more sound than Alabama’s. And it appears that the committee indeed has done the right thing here and dropped Alabama but kept SMU.

Texas has zero top 25 wins and UGA has a QB that will miss the playoffs. The only solution is for neither one of them to make the playoffs and be replaced with Miami and Army
Unlike UGA situation, when FSU's QB got hurt, FSU was exhibited when they played the ACC championship game. I had backup QB made some good plays, though.

Also, most importantly, the 12 team playoffs changed this equation completely.

No, that shouldn’t happen, for the following reasons:
  1. it was wrong to do it to FSU
  2. The backup QB for UGa led them effectively (whereas the backup for FSU didn’t) ergo they are less reliant one their QB other be competitive
  3. not clear that it is a season ending injury (He was out there handing the ball off in OT)
On the backup QB play:
2023 F$U
Rodemaker: QBR - 163.1
Glenn: QBR - 67.1

2024 UGAg
Stockton: QBR - 126.0

Stockton was better than F$U’s 3rd string guy, but worse than F$U’s backup.

I’m not arguing with you.

F$U’s backup was in concussion protocol for last year’s ACC CG. That game was played by their FR 3rd stringer, not their backup. The backup beat UF the week before 24-15.

I would say he was as effective as Stockton.
Brock Glenn vs Louisville, full game:
C/ATTYDSAVGTDINTQBR
8/21552.60011.7

My thought after the ACC Championship: "FSU is incapable of winning a playoff game with this guy."

Gunner Stockton vs Texas, 2nd half:
C/ATTYDSAVGTDINTQBR
12/16714.40163.7

They didn't need him to win the game though. They just needed him to not make a mistake. Their defense, run game, and special teams would have won the game. FSU was that good in every phase last year. Glenn just needed to hit a pass every now and then. Also, Rodemaker would have been healthy for the playoff game.

I think it was Biggers that got a somewhat similar hit on Beck's arm in our game. Beck came off rubbing his elbow. May have already been a little tender this week. The backup actually looked better than Beck.
i think it happened on the last play of the first half.
