The "books" believe SMU is in. (-350) to make the playoffs.
Seeing the conjecture of Clem / SMU getting 11&12 makes me happy

Actually, this wacky system could give us a pretty good playoff.
How good woukd Texas / SMU opening game be?!

1. Oregon
2. Uga
3. Boise
4. ASU

5/12 - Texas / SMU
6/11- ND /Clemson
7/10- PSU /indiana
8/9- tOSU / Tenn

I think SMU was helped by last year's selection of Alabama over FSU. Today was a make up call.
ACC has two tough games in the first round, but if they can win those the second-round games will be easier.

I love how this plays out for the SEC to be gone by New Year's Day. Clempson and Oregon (or tOSU), SMU and Notre Dame. That would be 3 ACC teams? 2 ACC teams and an ACC-adjacent team? That would have them in an uproar!!

I think if this 12-team thing is going to continue, there should be a reseating after the first round. That way, if #12 beats #5, they should have to play #1 not #4. Just a thought.

I like it for this year, but not moving forward.

None of the talking heads seem to have come to terms or managed to keep up with the changing landscape of CFB with portal & NIL.

They still want believe (despite a full season of 'results') only a handful of teams are elite. Simply not true. The playoff field & add Miami & Alabama & Ole Miss et al... is full of teams that can win any matchup. Obviously... some spreads will be a little lopsided. But... there is unprecedented parity. It's been a great year.

If Ga Tech (7-5) had that field as our 12 games schedule... Ga Tech would win more than a few games.

I was thinking this morning about Roman Colosseums and distracting the masses from the corruption of the rich by supplying sports and spectacle. And it now occurs to me we are in the distraction from the distraction phase.

Look for the SEC to really work on their schedule to limit the number of times the top teams play each other.

However, Alabama lost to Oklahoma and Vandy. Both teams are bowl eligible now because of beating Alabama. If Alabama wanted in, they shouldn't have lost to two bottom feeders.
Did anybody else catch Kirby whining about “Greg Sankey and his staff making this team travel to all these away games?” Not to mention hyping up the fact that now his team gets to rest?!? I checked and uga traveled to Kentucky, Alabama, Texas, and Mississippi while playing their annual game in Jacksonville. They also got there last three games all at home and played twice in Atlanta which is only about a 45 minute drive for them. That’s grasping at straws even for Kirby. I don’t get that complaint in the slightest. It’s not like you had to travel to New York and play Syracuse. Or play internationally in Ireland.

Kirby is a perpetual whine machine. I get so sick of seeing him jumping up and down on the sideline pleading his case to the refs.
He works them from the time they kick the ball to the last second of the game.

Kirby whining is as predictable as the sun rising.
