No news there. That is the way we have morphed in much of our country.

Our coaches are hangjng tough with indivdual effort, iron shapening iron as true brothers, never quit on the team, the ream, and the team.

I think Pitt and some other programs have emphasized players who want to be there. There's some NIL, but they're not the wild west. It seems to be going well for them

I think Castellanos simply speeded up the process. O'Brian has always preferred pro-style, drop-back QBs. This, to say the least, is not the way Castellanos plays. He was probably going to transfer out anyway. Now he is on the market for sure.

I also agree that such fits of pique are bad for college sports (and the pros won't put up with them at all) and that Castellanos shouldn't have abruptly quit the team. Something similar happened at Tech with Jeff Sims refusing to substitute during a game. It doesn't help the young man's rep and it doesn't help his attractiveness as a transfer. But … some tema will take him, build their O around him, and succeed; he's that good.

As I mentioned in another thread, some players don't like Bill O'Brien. It was a concern here when we looked for a replacement for TFG. Tom Brady wanted him gone from New England. He was unpopular at Houston.

He also seems to want a different style of QB than Castellanos. It could be a combination of writing on the wall and being unhappy with the coaching change.

Actually as with most situations in life (even the pros), folks will put up with crap from players/people if they are GOOD ENOUGH/VALUABLE so that they ignore the pique and let them away with it.How many pro holdouts were there this yr then got what they wanted.?

I believe this was a player being run off more than a player "quitting on his team" but that's jmho.

My understanding from reading around, between, and through the lines including some other boards and articles is that they had brought in the transfer QB, James, who fit BOB’s style more closely and then he got hurt I guess pretty early on. now that James is healthy as soon as Castellanos struggled they pulled him in favor of James.

Not sure if that’s accurate but it’s just a summary of what I both read and think of what I read.

The question is whether he'll win enough for fans and admins to put up with it. Don't let the recent Saban 180 fool you, Saban was the same way. Saban just won a LOT of games and put a LOT of players in the League so players and admins accepted it.
