Can GT Make This Projection Come True?

See the SI (Jackson Caudell) "way too early" projection below. He has the Yellow Jackets finishing at 10-2, losing only to Clemson and Georgia. Looking through his comments for each matchup, I could see this happening if we can keep everyone healthy, particularly King and Philo. Also, I think it depends on well how the defensive and offensive lines develop during the Spring and Fall practice. We also need a couple of receivers to step up and help Rutherford.

How does the Swarm feel about this projection?

It's very possible that we end up 10-2. A lot would need to go right for us - including staying healthy and finding a consistent pass rush.

The losses of Biggers and Height looms large as we head into the '25 season. Finding a consistent pass rush has been a problem for us for quite some time.

Interior D-line play will tell the tale this season. If the young, inexperienced guys that have been waiting the wings show out, then 10-2 is certainly possible. Worst case is that our competition runs up the middle with little resistance from the interior D-line all day long. I trust our defensive coaches to have them ready and scheme appropriately.

After King the biggest loss would VanDen Berg ,I believe.Really thin at DT.

DL/edge room took a hard hit. Would need both a step up from the youngins and maybe more spring portal additions.

If we can get that, I would say we have a good chance at out-muscling a few ACC teams

No game is an obvious loss for us anymore like the 100-0 days. But our margin for error/injury isn’t big

Nothing moves without ol.
Our ol game experience is way lower this coming year.
Gt stats for ol over estimates Ol expierence returning - pretty sure they count punt and fg team reps.

The redshirt sr OT( -Robinson) has portaled to being penciled in as starting right tackle for Arkansas. Another depth player (Brown) has portaled to Arizona. Also we used to show Best as a backup. He left. too.

2 years ago Mclhenney was All American freshman at left tackle, but he wained. This year he played part time in games - perhaps injury or just not strong enough. He did look active during uga game - blocked till he dropped and got up quickly to block more. The back up center never played. A TRUE FRESHMAN PLAYED MAJOR MINUTES AS A PULLING LEFT GUARD. We have a young ot from unc portal in.

I
Key has brought in more coaching help for ol. Must coach them up.

GT finished 2024 at 34th with a 7-5 record. Improving to 10-2 would mean jumping to around 15-16th (or better) in the country. I think that's a big jump AND may not include the fact that other teams will also be improving.

I'd be delighted with an 8-9 win season. It demonstrates stability and keeps up in the Top 30.
