Assistant salary pool is a sight for sore eyes. But that is the bare minimum for a HC salary that low.

$3m/yr annual value has to be one of the lowest in all of P5/ACC right? Anyone have stats on that?

Friendly buyout is good too - but hope it doesn't come to that. 4 years is enough time in this day and age with the portal to rebuild.

This was for 2021 so it's a bit dated. There were some Power 5 coaches making a bit less than $3m/yr.

I am pretty sure it’s bottom 5 P5 contract.

It’s amazing how greedy everyone has become. This dude’s life just changed forever. Depending on what quality of life he enjoys he never has to work again after the contract is up.

100%. He is making life changing money and living the ideals he talks about. Win win.

Of course he could make more in the short term. We all hope there is a long term at GT.

What are the incentives in his contract?

We really don't know how good of contract this is until we see the details.
The biggest positive is the bigger salary pool for assistants.

We really don't know much about the buyout except for it going to 50% in year 4. What is it in the 3 years before that?

He will be the lowest paid HC in the ACC and one of the lowest in the P5. That is both good and bad. It is good in the short term as it is likely about all we could afford and gives us a chance to start making the buyouts we have to make. On the other hand, if he does not do well it may be very difficult to attract any future coaches when they see how much GT is paying.

Ken also makes no mention of incentives, how many, what for, etc? That will be interesting to see.
