Maybe, but I can empathize with what he's saying. He's only interested in his kid, and what is going to make his kid happy; I get that's selfish, but who amongst us don't want their children to be happy and healthy? That's a tough situation for him (Dad). I also agree that it's not fair, and I understand that boys and girls have different physiological strengths, which provides Yearwood an unfair advantage. The problem is as soon exceptions to the rules are allowed, it becomes a judgment call and additional exceptions are added and additional exceptions are piled on until the original concept becomes so distorted and to no longer resemble the original concept. The issue as I see it is that we've become so accommodating to the individual and the individual's needs, that we've lost sight of how these accommodation create unfair conditions for the world surrounding the individual. Should we make sure that transgender people (including kids) are not discriminated against? Of course we should. I don't think anyone questions that. But as I said, upholding the rights of a minority should not infringe on the rights of the majority. Sometimes tough choices have to be made. Girls compete in boys events all the time, so Andraya can compete with the boys. She still gets to compete, she has every advantage the other boys have, and the competition is fair. BTW, I grew up in Connecticut, so I know both of these schools pretty well.
