Braves leaving Atlanta for Cobb County

Braves got more public money from Cobb than the Falcons got from Atlanta. That's why they left, and I am glad Cobb is taking part in footing the bill for Atlanta franchises. Now if this causes extension of Marta to Cobb, even better for future of the city.

I'm not sure any of those are feasible for that area, but more power to them. I still maintain the city should've bent over backwards to keep a tenant there 8 months out of the yr, rather than build a football stadium in another crap part of town...

Well I live in the "crap" area called Castleberry Hills where I walk to games and I love it. Great area for me.

The Braves wanted control over a project the city would have to put the majority of the cost into. You want the city to redevelop Summer Hill (which I'm lost on when people say how terrible it is when; http://www.trulia.com/for_sale/2667_nh & http://www.zillow.com/summerhill-atlanta-ga/ not to mention it's accessibility to Grant Park & Memorial Dr.), Mechanicsville, and Pittsburgh (where I mentor with a non profit) for you to control all the revenues.

Good riddance. With the Beltline coming and redevelopment of of that area we can have a viable improvement to the city.

That's the problem. Redevelopment has been promised in areas across the cry for decades. Why would that area get scarce redevelopment $ when there's no draw. My bet is that any development there ends up like Underground Atlanta after the Coke museum left. But I'm sure you think there's nothing wrong with that area, either...
