for what it's worth they also have another poll that ranks all 131 teams and we are 88th which is way outside their bottom 25

Yes. We'll see how accurate the ratings are when we play Ole Miss. That game should tell us a lot. Provided this week doesn't, that is.
I said this in another thread. I too am pointing to Ole Miss. Win that one and all the CGC apologists will have been correct that it was a long rebuild but we are on the right path. I am hoping.

But lose and this is going to be an ugly year made uglier by the three previous years and the knowledge that past is prologue.

Can’t pin it all to one game. We beat UNC last year and that argument was made. Beating a solid team is one thing that needs to happen, but we also need to win two games in a row, show competency in game management, stop committing excessive stupid penalties, eliminate the obligatory special teams meltdown each game, stop (or at least slow down) a heavy passing attack, and win more than three games.

I was encouraged most by the defense Monday night. I also enjoyed what appeared to be a much more strategic game plan by the offense. But the game management stuff is viewed as a non issue by Collins, and possibly our AD. If they don’t admit that this is a problem and address it then I don’t see a way this thing ever gets turned around without a change, as it will seriously limit our potential for wins.

No reason to get worked up about this if you understand their system. Everyone starts off equal at the beginning of the season, so if you got beat by a large margin week 1 you are gonna end up on the list week 1, doesn't matter as much who you played.

Week 3. GT re-enters at #15. Atlanta is well represented with 2 teams in the Bottom 15.

15. Georgia Tech
1-2Pack watch is officially descending upon Atlanta after the Yellow Jackets were blanked 42-0 by Ole Miss. The Rebs posted twice as many yards, first downs, yards per pass attempt and triple the yards per carry. A nonconference slate featuring Ole Miss, UCF and Georgia is certainly a decision. (NR)

Interesting that the 2 NC teams from 1990 are both on this list (CO is #3). Just sort of shows how much the game has changed.

Bottom has really fallen out for Ken S at Navy as well. 0-2 this season and 5-15 over his last 20 games.

Someone on Reddit said they should set up a bowl game specifically for GT and Colorado to decide the worst P5 team at the end of the year 💀

Colorado used to be really good back in the late 60's. Lots of distractions out there with all those high mountains.

4-0 Kansas makes this list seem foolish, yet cellar-dwellers like NMST and UMASS are fixtures every year.
