I thought it would be nice to have a recommendation thread for Birmingham. Best places for food, drink, entertainment, etc.

Personally, I’m flying in with my son (freshman in college) on game day just before 11AM, staying the night and leaving around noon the next day. I’m staying downtown, walking to the stadium. Looking for restaurants in that area - breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fancy or hole-in-the-wall, I can do anything. Would appreciate unique suggestions.

Bottega and Chez FonFon - Are Frank Stint restaurants (Michelin Award Chef and some of Best Bham has to offer). Automatic, Hot and Hot Fish Club, Helen are also high end..The Lakeview area is a good area for both food and drinks. Bars downtown: Mayawell, The Margaret, Moms Basement, Paperdoll are all worth a visit.Ill add more as they come to me..

The parking deck at the BJCC is tight. Never been a fan of it. Picked up a parking pass for $22.50 on the west side of the arena, purple lot i think. Less than 10min walk to the stadium. But most lots appear to be GameDay only.

Disclaimer, I lived there from 2006-2013, but still travel there occasionally. There probably are some newer spots but these are my favorites:

Avondale brewery / Saws barbecue is the best combo. Saws bbq is the best and Avondale has solid brews.

Good people brewery is also solid for beers.

The Lumbar has good cocktails.

The Pizitz Food Hall has an eclectic selection of good eats and good drinks.

I'll never tell
Back 40 Brewery is not too far from the stadium and has good beers and really good burgers with a nice outdoor space near Sloss furnace which is a birmingham landmark. TrimTab probably has the best beer but its a little smaller and is a bit eclectic.

We are the visiting team. It looks like we're on the same side as the press box area. The other side has an upper and lower deck. I think this is right.
I checked bowl seating. We are on east side, Vandy on west side with the suites.
