Most of my friends and family are mutts. They genuinely pull for Tech unless playing ugag of course because it's a instate school. Why don't we do the same for them? I did feel a little bad seeing them lose in such dramatic fashion. I know I've seen a win ripped from our hands more times than I want to remember.
Have you been a GT fan for very long? Serious question.

I don't pull for Uga ever. For any reason. They could play ISIS and I would be hollering Allah Snackbar! I HATE Ugag and their fans and all that they stand for and represent. I want them to lose every game they play in every sport forever. I hate that they even went to the national championship but since they did I love that they lost in heartbreaking fashion.

The only place I draw the line is I don't wish for their players to get hurt. But I do want us to hit them hard enough they don't want to play.

Love GT first, and pull for whomever is playing the leg humpers second. To HELL with Georgia!

Business at the nearby pawn shops will have a sudden influx of inventory as Dawg Nation attempts to get their balance sheet to show more black and less red. The next several months to a year(s) will be painful as each over extended UGA fan tries to do the math on trying to payoff the HUGE amounts of debt they have racked up as they chased their dawgs across the country to the Notre Dame game, Rose Bowl, and ultimately pawning many many precious family possessions to gain entrance into the National Championship game only to be able to say the same thing they could say before "we won our last National Championship in 1980". Close don't count. On a side note how long will it be before Kirby goes to social media to show what UGA does with 2nd place trophies?

You have different relatives and friends than mine. They hate Tech and everything it stands for. And they never let me forget it. Even the nice ones.

I absolutely hate it when Mutt fans say they pull for Tech except when they play Georgia. I tell them they wouldn't feel that way if we beat them regularly. That usually shuts them up. I have more respect for the ones that say they hate us.

This. Most patronizing thing in the world is when I talk to someone and they say "I always pull for Tech except when they play ugag." Makes my blood pressure rise just thinking about it.

Other teams love you if they can beat you all the time;) Every team in the SEC loved Derek Dooley and Butch Jones but I think they will hate Jeremy Pruitt:rolleyes: The Coaches of the ACC will be complaining about GT's offense big time this season when they win 8-9 games;):D:cool:

I think this is often a ploy to set up argument with GT fans since they know how we feel about them. So, I just generally reply "well, isn't that special" or something.

I'm still laughing at this one...

"They could play ISIS and I would be hollering Allah Snackbar! I HATE Ugag and their fans and all that they stand for and represent. I want them to lose every game they play in every sport forever. I hate that they even went to the national championship but since they did I love that they lost in heartbreaking fashion. "

I hope I can remember this at the UGAG tailgate this year.

I don't hate UGA like I used to. Those really intense feelings from my youth are mostly gone. I have too many close friends who either went there or had a dad who went there and are fans. But I still pull against UGA in whatever game they play... at least in football. When they lose, it's a bit like enjoying how Bo and Luke Duke always got the best of Sheriff Coltrane and Boss Hogg, or the way Road Runner always outfoxed Wil E. Coyote.

As a lifelong (and long-suffering) Tech fan, I have come to accept the maxim that misery loves company. I am just about as thrilled when the dwags lose as when Tech wins. My two favorite teams have always been Tech and whoever plays the dwags. Here we are in the middle of January and I am still giddy over the dwag loss in the NC game...

The ending to that game was one big sigh of RELIEF. Atlanta used to be 50/50 Tech vs. UGA, and the state seemed to be fairly split as well. After 1980 and Herschel, that all changed. And ever since then, the Atlanta media still won't let you forget about 1980. Had they won this one, you'd never have heard the end of it. Lots of Dawgs fans here in Charleston, too. It's a big UGA hotbed.

does 1985 or so count as very long? I hate anything ugag as much as any of you but I do have family and friends that pull for them. My dad is also a Tech fan and he once drove to Athens and cut the rope off ugags chapel bell they ring after victory.

The "Christian" thing is to hate the sin, but love the sinner. It's quite alright to love your misguided family members and friends, while still praying that they come to their senses and renounce their affinity for the devil that is UGA.

My extended family on both sides is all from Athens. My grandfather went to GT and he, my dad and I are only GT fans in my family. I have tons of family and friends that all root for Ugag. And while I may love them as family, that does nothing to change that they are obnoxious rednecks who bark for the dwags. I revel in their misery.
