Here in these three articles, Baseball America "reranks" the 2008, 2009 and 2010 classes.

Summary is that rankings for baseball, like star rankings for football are weakly predictive of later performance.
2010 - 17 of 25 classes are reranked in top 25 4 years later.
2009 - 16 of 25 classes are reranked in top 25 4 years later.
2008 - 13 of 25 classes are reranked in top 25 4 years later.
Who would've thought? I thought only in football did the development after HS throw a wild card into things (tic obviously).
2010 - GT 2010 recruiting class was ranked 7th and overall team produced at 17th level. Our ranking is hurt by poor post season performance. That may change this year!
"2010 rank: 7.
Recruiting coordinator: Bryan Prince.
BA All-Americans: Daniel Palka (2013 first team); Zane Evans (2013 third team).
Other key players: Kyle Wren, Mott Hyde, Dusty Isaacs, Matthew Grimes, Alex Cruz, Devin Stanton, Jonathan Roberts.
The bottom line: The biggest name in this class, DeAndre Smelter, never produced for the Jackets on the diamond; he’s now the football team’s top wide receiver, a testament to his considerable athletic ability. But this group still produced a pair of All-Americans in the slugging Palka and the invaluable two-way talent Evans. Hyde, Isaacs, Grimes, Roberts and Stanton stayed for four years and made four straight regionals, but the Yellow Jackets could never get over the hump into super regionals during that stretch."
2009 - Not ranked.
2008 - GT class was not ranked but overall the team produced at the 19th level. Here's what they said about the 2008 class:
"2008 rank: NR.
Recruiting coordinator: Bryan Prince.
Key players: Jed Bradley, Mark Pope, Matt Skole, Jake Davies, Jacob Esch, Brandon Miller.
The bottom line: This class never quite lived up to its talent, losing in regionals three years in a row. But that doesn't mean it didn't have talent, as Bradley, Pope, Skole and Miller (after transferring to Samford) would each wind up as top-five-rounds picks."
