You seem to be over-pumping what was thought by most to be a substantial reach. Especially with the recruiting base we have in pretty close proximity to us.

We currently have one sophomore for the upcoming year and no freshmen committed. We have a huge junior class (Coleman, Kelly, Moore, Smith, Meka, Mawell) and relatively large senior class (Sturdy, Terry, Howard). Without any backfill waiting, by year 3 it will be looking like we have to almost entirely retool with the portal or take a huge freshman class next year and rely on them as sophs without any uperclassman leadership to help. Neither of those are good situations.

Maybe things will change, and if they do then the impact will be different. But as it currently stands, it leaves us with nobody being developed to take over for Kelly/Coleman/etc and I don't feel comfortable on relying on that recruiting base or the transfer portal to provide the way we would need to in that case based on what we have shown in regards to NIL up until this point.

The transfer portal will become less attractive when that extra COVID year drops off. The transfers will be less experienced if coaches want more than
one years eligibility. There are kids now with 3 years college experience that transfer with 2 years eligibility left.

Seems there are a bunch of spots open now. Howard, Freds, Cryil, Blue, J Hill out. Dowuona in.
Right now we have 5 scholarships available. We already had one open, lost Franklin, Meka, Howard, and the 2 freshmen. Add back Dowuona to net 5. Maybe Blue will sign again?

Oh my god! What a disaster. We need a new coach! Are you available?

Some coaches would like a blank canvas to work with, instead of being tied to the players from the previous regime to whom did not contribute outside of practice(excepting Howard). Now, CDS can find a few freshmen & sophomores out of the HS, International and or Portal pools.
