Apparently 'American' football used to be 3 downs as well, but later changed to 4 downs. CFL stayed at 3.

Ant had a bad fumble, but has now just scored his second TD.

Overall it looks like Anthony will have a lot of fun up north this season.

If you go back far enough it was 3 downs to get 5 yards. That was long before the first forward pass.
