I’m on the give me Mooney over Thomas train
I mean, yours is a completely valid point of view, if the goal is to be wrong.

Kidding... I disagree, but it's not a big deal either way. I'm not sure Mooney was much better than Thomas offensively. Mooney averaged .9 more ppg while shooting 47% from the field vs. Thomas' 62%. Then, defensively Thomas averaged 2+ blocks per game. Thomas' achilles heel was foul trouble.

Mooney doesn’t have that rim protecting ability but I like the pick and pop ability, FT shooting and the ability to stay on the floor. 2.8 fouls per 40 as opposed to 5.0.

FWIW, on the Thomas-Mooney discussion.
in my metrics Thomas has better per min and per possession metrics, but Mooney has better per game metrics. This is largely due to Mooney fouling a lot less and being able to keep himself on the floor more (Thomas fouls at a rate 60% faster than Mooney).

Thomas gives you more protection around the rim and is a better scorer close in. Mooney is a better scorer at the FT line and out, Mooney also rebounds at a better rate and has a better Ast/TO ratio.
Sort of depends what you need out of your big. Overall imo Mooney had a slightly better year.
