Weird. NC State has an RPI of 22 but is ranked #11 and given a projected host. They've only won 5 of their last 12 games. 2 of the 5 games they did win were by 1 single run against poor teams (Virginia, Boston College). Crazy.

D1 also factors in how they think a team will finish in their projections, that could be part of it.

As I read it, D1 Baseball has us as the #8 SUPER regional host.

Yep... but improving resume will be difficult (ACC tournament not withstanding). So... need max wins. No series losses.

...& CDH decision to schedule UCLA may be difference.

Baseball America has Jackets as a 10 seed hosting Auburn, So. Miss and Harvard.

Alluded to this in the ACC thread that we’re not far away from having a national seed resumé right now. Our RPI will likely fall if we don’t start getting some sweeps against our weak remaining SOS, but the polls are finally starting to catch up to what we’ve been doing the last month. If we can go 5-2 over the next 10 days (which isn’t unreasonable) against @VTx3, UGA, and Clemsonx3 I think we’ll be a consensus Top 10 club in the polls with a Top 5 or 6 RPI.

From there it would just be holding serve against Duke, WC, and Pitt to finish the season. The path is certainly there for us to be hosting a SR.
