Anyone else excited about the OL for the next few years like I am?

No more patchwork OL. No getting nervous about DEs making our tackles look like turnstiles. No more watching our QB run for his life at the snap.

Sounds like if our boy Will Bryan has to sit, it won't be for lack of trying.

I'm envisioning the Tom Osborne OLs during Nebraskas heyday...just one guy after another wearing out the DL.

I think it's perfectly ok for Will to sit this year. I do love the idea of a 9 minute death march where we exchange the entire OL in between downs and don't miss a beat.

Negative ghostrider. OL is a rhythm position in some respects. Every other down is a recipe for confusion and isn't a good idea. Every other drive even may be a bit much.

If I'm coach I play one game at a time, one year at a time. I know guys need experience, but winning the current contest takes precedence. I'd manage my resources to maximize my chance of winning on that day and worry about next year, next year.

Luckily, rotating fresh guys into the lineup helps maximize winning on any given day if done within certain parameters. Also, there are always games where the outcome is decided early and that allows you to give valuable game reps to backups. The onus is on the team to get leads big enough to allow that.

Marshall Tore his peck. Thats why he has been in an immobilization sling. Also question his weight right now. He does not look like an OL. He's maybe 240ish right now. I get being out of action and lapsing out of shape, but he just doesn't look like he has a great frame to build off of.

He's never been the biggest guy, who knows we could redshirt him this year if we can find another good backup.

I think PJ did say that Burden is out also.
I wouldn't doubt that bryan might end up at Ctr sometime..

Burden is out...re injured his wrist..could play if it was game week but medical staff told him it would be better if he waited.

I would think it would take him a year to get back into shape and competative form. Even if he goes all out in the weight room for multiple seasons, I never see him getting over 280lbs of good weight.

Hmm...where does this put Devine, Braun, Gary Brown? Interesting shuffling going on.

Maybe just spring experimentation...maybe not. We'll see.
