I happened to catch CDH teleconference streamed via theACC.com the AM. Very short... some highlights... no particular order: These are CDH's comments in response to media questions. 1) Injuries - Never seen anything like it. Are allowed to dress 27 for games (same # your allowed to distribute 11.5 scholarships across). We're leaving 9 scholarship players in ATL. 8 of those out for year. (interesting wording since many think ...not CDH, I guess.. this would be the end of the season). (y) 2) Game 1 - Both teams (Miami & TECH) are equally desperate. Tech must win tournament (starts with must-win v Miami) to get into NCAA tournament. Miami on bubble ... cannot afford loss to Ga Tech. 3) Tournament format - When coaches voted on the change, the main reason was to give more teams (12 vice 10) an opportunity to make the NCAA tournament. (He would not really give his opinion on whether the specifics of this format were to his liking or not. He acknowledged that for Tech (this week) it's simple....gotta win the tournament. For the top 4 teams if they are in meaningless games, he imagines coaches adjusting rotations to save the better pitchers for Sat & Sun). 4) Confirmed Lee gets Miami & Curry gets Wake.
