Also, I think most of these comments are from coordinators rather than head coaches.

The Coastal is solid top to bottom. Each team can win or lose any game in the division. I could see the turnover advantage deciding most games and maybe even the division. Four teams from our division will play either Clemson or Miami, so Duke and VT begin with a schedule advantage. Glad to get Miami, Clemson and Duke at home, BC on a neutral field, and uga in athens. VT and UNC on the road back to back could be tough, but since they are late in the season, momentum decides those games maybe more than anything else.

I thought our assessments were dead on target.

But because of that offense and their ability to run the ball, they’ll always be in games. Even last year they didn’t really get blown out by anybody, but they lost a lot of games in the fourth quarter because they couldn’t execute offensively when it mattered and their defense didn’t create those extra possessions.”
This nails the state of our team. We don't have to be dominant in recruiting to win and be really good on offense, but we do need to sprinkle in a few special players. And, notice our defense barely enters into the thought process of defining our team and success - and then only in the hope of creating a turnover rather than shutting down the opponent's offense. I really hope that can change.


And, then there's this regarding the defense:
“They’re not built to be a dominant defense, so they need to be opportunistic and create some havoc.”
Why aren't we built to be a dominant defense? We used to be.

The other comments are spot on as well. This is a good concept with preseason coverage.
