It's his entire demeanor in my opinion that makes him innovative. He finds ways to reward the kids hard work: DJs at practice... if you have a 3.0 or higher he lets kids wear their twitter handle on the back of jerseys during the spring game... you "earn" single digit jersey # based on performance... he hand writes letters or drawings to recruit kids, etc. We need those fun and innovative recruiting/coaching methods to counteract some of the academic rigors to get kids onto the flats. Kids WANT to play for coaches like this.
It may seem cheesy to some but we sometimes forget that these grown men are having to be around 18 to 21 year olds day in and day out.
