Correct.

Ramsey is the hitting coach for the team 9th in the country in batting average, 18th in obp, 10th in runs scored, 10th in hits, leading the country in doubles, top 40 in homeruns, leading the ACC in most of those, etc.
I think the original question was posed in Panic mode...he probably wants to fire the entire hitting staff because we have been in a bit of a teamwide hitting slump the last 6 games or so. At least that is how it looked/read/sounded to me.

He was very active with the guys during on field BP prior to yesterday's game, too. He would meet them as they hopped out of one side, walk around the back of the turtle talking and demonstrating an adjustment before they got back in. I noticed a change in the way Burress was making contact as his round progressed...several pop ups/easy fly balls morphed into line drives off the LF wall. That didn't directly translate to every AB but the base hit he had was hit very hard, like the rockets he hit off the wall in BP.

Right. That's why I included all the rankings for the team even after those 6 games to show why that's a dumb take.

Yeah, Ramsey is supposedly an amazing coach. We only see the results obviously (and those are largely great - regardless of current slump), but the players also love him and give him a lot of the credit for their success. Looking forward to having him as the head guy.

It's a slump. It happens. Like I said earlier, there's been a lot of great defensive plays, some umpires getting in the way of balls, and some whacky strike zones. It happens. I don't deny that there's also been a lot of swing and miss, bat on the shoulder, and just not great at bats, but they aren't the norm. If this continues through the weekend, it'll be more reasonable to start panicking, but right now I think it's too early to panic. We've shown too much this season.

Panicking doesn't do any good. IIWII. I've finally internalized that after a few decades.

The coaches know what they are doing better than I. Unless GT makes the players inferior (which was a good explanation for our decade plus pitching woes), it's just baseball. Played by college age (0/+) guys who are largely at GT to get the best shot at the MLB while having a great backup plan.
