From some twitter discussion this evening: That is the last time we were 3 games above .500 in the ACC.

Think about that for a moment. That's beyond sobering. 24 years ago.

Man, I hope it gets better sometime.

If my numbers are right. We are playing in our 40th season of ACC basketball. We have only had 7 seasons where we ended the season above .500 in conference.

I knew someone would toss out the arbitrary line. Bottom line it’s still a decent representation of how poor we’ve been for quite a while now as a whole. Yea, 2004 was great. 1 year out of 24.

You’re right. Extremely arbitrary. But it’s still a measuring stick for how far behind Tech has been the rest of the conference for 25 years. Yeah, one final 4, but how about no NCAAT appearances in the 2010s? BC and Tech are the only 2 ACC teams that haven’t made the tournament since 2010, and all others have been in at least once since 2016.

That would be an example of a relevant fact. We have been terrible since 2010. One coach had mailed it in, the next was incompetent, the current is yet to be decided but looking like another miss.

The retweet by twinkle fingers doesn't really mean anything. The record at the end of the season matters.
