I know it's early in the season, but our positioning in the upper RH quadrants was interesting to me.

I think stuff like Baker leading the nation is doubles is a neat stat, I like it when our BA with 2 outs and RISP is high, etc. I track pitch counts during the game, perhaps I'm obsessed with that stat. I like to know how fast a pitcher's throwing the ball. I like to know how far Hernandez and Zuckerberg and Lackey's HRs went. Our fielding percentage is interesting, what's the longest a pitcher has lasted, how many DPs we have and have hit into. I like all of it.

Yeah winning's the #1 stat I'm interested in, but I guess I'm a stats junkie which is why I've always liked baseball a lot compared to football.
I'm with you. I love the stats in baseball more than in any other sport. Maybe it's because baseball, while being a team sport, is centered more on individual performances than a sport like football where all eleven players need to be successful in order for most plays to work. In baseball, the performance of an individual pitcher or batter can mean the difference between winning and losing.

Heading into conference play now.
12-1... wins over every team on the schedule so far.
Good start. Now the stakes ramp up.
At 2-1 (in state) we are on track for the GA state championship with WGA (1x), GS (1x), KST (2x), Mercer (1x) left. Plus UGA (1x), but they should be DQ'ed for refusing to play us (more than once), Mercer (at all) or Georgia Southern (at all).

Ga Tech is #1 nationally in OBP at .535

#2 Pitt is .490 (that's a .045 delta)

...that's the same delta covers #2 thru #21 Miami (OH) - .446

Hope that makes sense... bottom line, Tech gets on base more often than others... by a lot.

Since I can't seem to get access to this thread: My only concern is Mark T. has been instrumental in GT Baseball and has also been very active in councils supporting the GT President and GT athletics. He obviously will not be in a position to do that if he gets elected to Congress.
ok screwed up sorry.
