I'm sure some are just taking classes so they can play more football (and why on Earth would that be a waste of time for a young man who really enjoys it and has the opportunity to do it for a little while longer for, perhaps, the last time in his life?). But others might, and I know this is crazy talk, get some additional education on a different subject that could help them in their future careers. After getting one degree I got a second undergrad (a masters for that second undergrad was going to take another 12 months beyond what the second one took and it wasn't something I needed for my career choice) and it turns out the second degree was the one that I used in my future career.

Another possible factor for our guys portaling is different minimum GPA requirements for admission to Tech's graduate programs, vs. other schools.
