I do like that we get to stay in Durham at the end of the year for the ACC championship.Schedule is out.
One trip to West coast (Stanford)
UGA just once (Truist Field). Not happy about this.
The rest is mediocre.
Not sure what I hoped for... but this didn't light a fire under me to get excited about the season.
UGA wanted to end the three game series because they have lost three out of the last four and it is hurting their in state recruiting. No UNC, Wake, FSU, NC State, BC the early series are a lot better than last year. I believe UGA wanted to end the series and just play one game not sure why. I hope we are better than 500 in conference play this year.
I wish this were true, but it's actually the other way around as far as results (doesn't seem to impact recruiting much either way). In the 4 years we played a weekend series, UGa swept in 2024, took 2 out of 3 in 2023, we took 2 out of 3 in 2022, and UGa swept in 2020. In total, we were 3-9, or 3-8 if you don't count the Friday night game that was suspended with UGa up 9-3 or some such score in the 4th inning.UGA wanted to end the three game series because they have lost three out of the last four and it is hurting their in state recruiting.
Dropping facts doesn't help 78's narrativeI wish this were true, but it's actually the other way around as far as results (doesn't seem to impact recruiting much either way). That is a good source. Much better then the guy on the other side.Sorry, I received my facts from Tim Walz.
Looks like Ga Southern comes to Atlanta May 6.Did we already know there would be no on campus games with UGa? That is really disappointing to me. I wonder what drove that change? Also, only one game against Georgia Southern in Statesboro. They aren't coming to Atlanta? I guess we are trying to welcome West Georgia to Div 1 and had to drop a game somewhere?
At least they took my advice and scheduled Western Carolina. Hopefully Marshall is improved in 2025, but unless they are a lot worse they are an improvement over Youngstown St. The non-conference weekend opponents with 2024 RPI.... Old Dominion (75), Marshall (190), Western Michigan (124), and Western Carolina (108). That is better than last season, certainly more balanced.
I will miss the weekend series (and on-campus games) against UGa.
ETA: Home conference slate: Pitt, Cal, Clemson, Virginia, Louisville. That should be pretty solid. Other than losing the UGa game, that seems to be a decent home slate.
Thanks!!!!....I wonder if they edited the schedule, or if I was having a really bad reading comprehension problem yesterday. I specifically checked to see if we had a home/home with State (as well as Kennesaw St, Mercer, and Southern) and confirmed that we did with all but Southern. Now it is as you say. Hopefully that is all I mis-read yesterday!Looks like Ga Southern comes to Atlanta May 6.
Looks like only 1 game against Ga State though at home.
