Season is nine days away, seven for the ladies.

My predictions:
MBB: 18-13 (10-10 ACC)
WBB: 21-9 (12-6 ACC)

These will probably blow up in my face, GT basketball is unpredictable. I do think we lose to UMBC as there's always ONE cupcake L each season.

I feel Kara Dunn and the ladies have a big season.

Drop your predictions and thoughts!

WBB: 18-12 (8-10 ACC)

The women have some great guard play again this season but are still missing the interior scoring/defender they need to get back to the Tournament and make a run to the Sweet 16 again. They will have a good non-conf against, frankly, a cakewalk of a schedule but then run into the loaded ACC.

The men I think are in another season of question marks. How are the transfers games going to translate to Atlanta? Will we get any contribution from the freshmen? Lance Terry was on a tear in 2023 and by all accounts had an amazing summer - his injury wasn't really that serious but is he the same Lance Terry? Our ACC schedule is very kind after the opening 2 games, but I really can't pinpoint a single year since 2020 when we had a team that had a true "proof of concept" like we got from the finish to the '19-20 campaign.

If the women go 12-6 in conference that will be an amazing feat. The ACC is easily the best conference in all of women's basketball. Adding Stanford to what is already the best conference just makes it even better. To only lose 6 games to the likes of Notre Dame, Duke, UNC, NC State, Louisville and FSU who are all ranked in the top 19 of the country would mean we have one heck of a team. I know we have concerns in the post. I was happy to hear Termis spent the entire offseason here working on her game rather than returning to Spain so hopefully that pays some dividends. I also think we will see a much improved Thomas Harris and with Blackshear and the Georgia transfer Smith hitting the boards we should have some depth there and hopefully it is quality depth. But we will definitely be a guard driven team this year.

As far as the men go I think 10-10 is doable. I am optimistic that we have quality depth on the team. I am encouraged by the new additions and can't wait to see how they will mesh together. I think we are going to surprise a lot of people.

Buckle up kids…

My MBB prediction:

So I come from a middle class family, my mother worked very hard…

It’s a very good prediction, other predictions are bad, some good, some very bad, i did an excellent job with this prediction, everyone likes it, people have contacted me for it, everyone loves it, quite frankly it’s the best

20-11 (11-9)

Firmly on the bubble.

  1. Love the double PG capability as well as JM’s ability to score in bunches.
  2. I think Kowacie has a big season.
  3. If Baye stays healthy I think we are a potential tournament team.
  4. I think O’Brien is an underrated weapon.

Okay, this made me laugh...

Kids, are you reading this? All predictions should come with this kind of preamble.

Now I will be disappointed if we are not 20-11 (11-9), which I will take.

I would love to make predictions, but I feel my true calling was to write the definitive treatise on the biology of the larval stages of Barnacles. Alas, I have had to dedicate my productive years putting my little brother, who is prone to seizures, through Clown College.

My confidence intervals for our record this year is expansive:

15-15 +/- 10 games (10-10 +/- 7 games).

I'm not courageous enough to guess.

I'm sold on the recruiting, but not yet sold on the consistency of on court play. I think we take a small step forward for the men. Don't know enough about WBB to comment, although I do follow box scores.

I agree about Baye. But that pretty much applies to all our front court guys. No significant injuries there. Please.

I hope the the death of Mutombo's father and Mustaf's father doesn't keep them away from the team for an extended period. This could be a tough time for those young men to think about school and basketball.

If Kowacie just repeats 2023 we'll be in great shape at the 3.

Don’t know the record, but I’m not hedging on my investment.

You forgot to mention how we should all be unburdened by what has come before us.
