On Wheat, I read a Cubs-specific article saying they don't expect to sign all 20 draftees, but will probably get at least 18.Leaves Parada and Wheat stay tuned…..
I hope he makes it to campus but understand it is not likely. I also read that he is 19 so would be eligible early if he comes to school. On Wheat, I read a Cubs-specific article saying they don't expect to sign all 20 draftees, but will probably get at least 18.
Right now, they have only signed 2 of the 11-20 round picks, neither for over 125K. They haven't saved a lot from the first 10 rounds so far and still have to sign their 2 and 4 picks. Probably will be overslot for them.
All that to say, I doubt they will have a lot to give over 125K for a high school pitcher in round 16 but that may be all he's looking for. However, interesting he hasn't signed yet while 2 others in that draft range have signed for that or close to it.
No worries THWGApologies for the tone, Buzz. No offense intended. Go jackets.
When you’re right. You’re right. And you guys were right.
125k mlb draft 2022 Spot tracAnyone seen how much Marquis signed for? His loss is the biggest one I really didn't expect. I would have expected him to be a weekend starter next year. IIWII.

He must really want to get started.125k mlb draft 2022 Spot trac
Thought he would take a step forward and be the Friday night starter. This is a loss no doubt but obviously money wasn’t the motivator here. Just my opinion, but i think the desire to “get started” and some developmental regression were also part of the decision making process. Nonetheless he’s a great kid wish him nothing but success. He must really want to get started.
