Mar 17 Ga Southern

Mar 19-21 at Wake Forest

May 7-9 Clemson
May 14-16 at Miami
May 18 UGA

This accounts for 42 games. Previous reports claimed the plan was for 50 games in 2021.

[Apologies for the bad info... but that's not stopping me, I guess. 😉 ]
No apologies needed Fred. You always do a great job figuring this out. Looking forward to Tech baseball again!

Ok. ACC put out a conference schedule. Can confirm all below is accurate based on that & the non-conference schedules I've seen. New here (from my last) are the 2 games v UGA & 1 home game v Auburn. This gets it to 46 games. Assuming a 50 game schedule... I will assume we'll see 4 mid-week contests v the likes of Ga State & Mercer scattered throughout.

The first 2 ACC series (NCST & LOU) are against 2 of the best teams in the conference... according to the preseason rankings.

GA series has 2 games. @GA 4/27, home with GA on 5/18. home with Auburn 4/13 (but not a game there). Interesting that both Auburn and Ga. Southern are playing in Atlanta but not at their location. That is 10 of the 14 non-conference games with the potential schedule posted above and the adds of GA and Auburn. Neither GA. State or Mercer have posted their 2021 schedules yet. They have often been on our schedule and are close so wouldn't surprise me if one or both are on our schedule.

Interesting their press release shows both but their online schedule only shows the one. Miscommunication between their media relations and web teams?

Yawn, @FredJacket scooped them again.

Seems to be fewer mid-season games this year. Maybe to allow for reschedule? Don't want to play 2 mid-week games to stay fresher for the weekend.

Only 20% of the tickets will be sold and strict facemask policy. If you have a medical condition which prevents wearing a mask, contact GT two weeks before the game :) Kids over 2 with a mask seems hard. Maybe they meant 12?

I also saw that tickets will only be on smart phones, no paper. I like that too since it makes them easier to transfer. I donated to the Grand Slam Club since I won't be going to any/many games in ATL.

Extremely tough schedule, but I like our chances. Just win 2 out of 3 every weekend and we'll be a top 8 seed again.

It really is a tough schedule. Not sure if it is a good thing (or not so good) thing to get NC State and Louisville (cross division top end teams) early in the schedule. Since I can't figure it out... I'll say it is a GOOD thing. Will leave plenty of time to make up ground if we have ground we need to make up.

For those keeping score at home... it is a little fun to take a look at the ONE team each team is NOT facing. It appears the goods are playing the goods (as a general rule); but one of my favorite conspiracy theories (NOT) is the one about how the ACC picks on Ga Tech OR gives all the NC schools all the breaks in scheduling. Regardless... here you go. The teams NOT facing each other in regular season:

Coastal / Atlantic
Ga Tech / Boston College
Duke / FSU
Miami / Notre Dame
Pitt / Clemson
UNC / Wake Forest
UVA / NC State
Va Tech / Louisville

A bit of a silly exercise here... but I cut the schedule up in the 5ths (3-week / 10-ish game chunks). At quick glance... the 1st 3 weeks is the toughest (esp ACC-wise)...nothing easy about this schedule. Will be a grind. If they manage to keep the losses to an average of about 3-4 every 3 weeks (doable I think).... that's a pretty good season. 30-35 wins and 15-20 losses.
