There's been discussion is various threads about projected lineups and contributions, but this seems like a logical place for this. In a regulation game, there are 200 minutes to distribute. No one player can take up more than 20% of this, which would mean playing the full 40 minutes. I went back and compiled the minutes distribution for Coach Pastner's teams at Memphis and GT. I limited it to conference games, and there is no adjustment or notes for injuries or other factors which might affect the overall playing time. The results are as shown below: This seems consistent with his stated philosophy of having a limited rotation, though there have been years where at least 10 players averaged 7 minutes per game. What's the threshold for being a "significant" contributor? So what will this year look like? Lammers was in the #1 position past year, but hopefully that will go down a little. Okogie was #3 at 16.4%. Jax was #5, and Moore was #6. There are 11 eligible scholarship players this year, and a lot of unknowns. I think that Lammers/Okogie/Jackson should be the top three spots this year, in some order. Moore and Alvarado should share 20%, maybe more if they end up playing together at times. Beyond that, I have no clue, but it's going to be fun to watch and see who steps up, and how many players end up contributing.
