Quite amazing his development since that BC game in early Jan. Going to be real interesting to see how this continues for him.

Nobody's talking about how his FT shooting percentage skyrocketed this game. He was 3-6 from the line, 50%, brought his season percentage from 21% to 29%. We don't win without this!!!!

Almost like being in the Square Root Club was my thought last night. I was thinking about it last night.

CDS, in his own way, has been trying to return the culture of GT basketball to the winning ways of the Creminsā€™ era. It hasnā€™t been easy, especially with such a banged up team & short bench. I get from this presser an insight into a bunch of players that are making every effort to effectuate that return

Brad Brownell, ā€œItā€™s really the first time this year you could sense our guys tightening up a bit. Itā€™s almost like we tried too hardā€.
FU Brownell. Your guys got outplayed & out-toughed. And your sorry arse got outcoached.
I heard CDS coaching in the huddle," So, same five guys, give the ball to George, anybody but Souare on the FT line. Got it? Everybody in!!"

Best win I've watched in a long time.

Iā€™ll also clap for my earlier post prediction - catching Tigers in potential trap game, and ā€œwinning by 3 and getting out of town.ā€

I had a hard time understanding him at times, but I thought Boeheim did a great job last night. At the end of one of the OT periods Brownell called for Chase Hunter to take 3-point shot to win. After the miss Boeheim took Brownell to task, "Why? Why. He just got to the basket two straight times."

He also said Ndongo was having a "monster" rebounding night after Baye almost leapt out the gym to grab a rebound over several Clemson players.

Watched the entire game, even when I needed to go to bed.

This was my overall, abiding impression.

When I looked at each individual Tech player I could see an area of their skill sets that was lacking, or subpar, in some cases, a glaring weakness. When I looked at each individual Clemson player I saw many who were solid all around players.

But Tech was more than the sum of their parts. Clutch plays happened by this player and that player because they were trusting each other and trusting that nobody was giving up on a play and everyone was going to be called on to do their part and everyone was going to use every last ounce of whatever energy they had left to win the game.

One of the best team efforts Iā€™ve ever seen.

That was an exhausting game! It reminded me of the end of "Rocky." In his post game TV interview, I expected Nait George to bust out with, "Adriannnnn! Adriannnn!"

McCollum took a big hit and if it is a concussion, that would be his second in just a couple of months. That would be bad and I will echo the thought that could be his season. Hope not.

We need some returns from the "Boot Brigade," especially Mustaf.

Souare is a smart player and alert. He has a been a vital "glue guy"

Powell's emergence has been key. It is a big development considering he has another year of eligibility.

The team has found a defensive identity and that is how they are winning. I really want to get Mustaf back because I think he would fit quite nicely into how this team plays defense.

Going into this last weekend 3-7 in conference and facing two quad 1 games, it was looking like 3-9 was likely. To come out 5-7 instead changes the complexion of the season. Going .500 in conference (we'll need to go 5-3 the rest of the way to get there) seems possible and a viable goal.

To get there, the team has to move beyond the habit of perplexing let-downs against weaker opponents..
