Going to be a rowdy crowd tonight :ROFLMAO: been asking GTAA to hold concession incentives for years b/c it can drive ticket sales (and in my experience attending a $2 beer night for a different D1 school, cheap beer drives a very good home court advantage) but the reality is I don't think our concessions logistically can handle larger sales volumes. They are too slow/inefficient.

If they ever go to $2 beer, I will put them to the test!

I'm beginning to grow concerned about McCollum's concussion. I've seen football players miss less time for a concussion.

Bottom line, we need all hands on deck to have a shot at being a good team.

Concussions can be rough. Sometimes you’ll hear that you can recover in a week, but the effects can linger for months or longer.

I hope he gets better soon.

Unfortunately, it’s been reported that McCollum did not even travel to Norman for the game. He needs to be symptom free just to rejoin practice. Started the season thinking you have a nice team deep enough in talent to cover foul trouble and needed blows. But only elite programs stocked with nationally ranked talent can afford to lose a senior starter expected to play a major role in improving the team over the previous season. Javian was a BIG piece of this team’s talent. Would love to see a medical report saying he will be ok, health-wise, whether or not he is able to rejoin the team anytime soon.

Sorry to derail the thread, but what can be done about McCamish concessions? Over the past couple of seasons, it seems to me that options and quality have declined while wait times and prices remain high. The hot dogs are barely edible, and the GT branded beers by New Realm Brewing are $12 or $14.

They need to get more creative with how concessions are run. They will separate alcohol sales with New Realm draft carts near the 10th Street entrance but I see those out maybe 3 times a season. Too much of the staff is busy running food/drinks to the register when they should put most of that staff on point-of-sale systems and let fans pick out concessions cafeteria style like they do at Stegemann.

It's a much higher investment to implement but the absolute gold standard of concessions for me lately is the checkout-free markets. Mercedes-Benz has them:

You can be seat-concession-seat in as little as a minute with this tech. I think this is the market leader in this technology: https://www.getzippin.com/sports-entertainment

Jalon Moore came in with Miles Kelly and Deebo Coleman, and was the lowest ranked recruit in that signing class. Look at his development...it was a trajectory that kept climbing up and culminating in this season. He's having a spectacular year for Oklahoma, and has played better as the opponents have gotten better. He would have been part of the "get old, stay old" foundation this year at GT.

I have a feeling Moore will have some extra motivation tonight...

We were crushing them with size in the 1st half. Then DO and Baye pick up loads of fouls (and not even bad calls but just bad decision making), get benched, and we crumble on both sides of the ball. Sad because it was a really good effort in the 1st half but the coaching staff needs to teach these guys how to defend without fouling. Outside of Nait, they are the heartbeat of the team and they can't be picking up 2 fouls before the 2nd TV timeout in the 1st half and a 4th before the 1st TV timeout in the 2nd. Sucks to lose this way but we need to be better.

$eC is whopping up on the ACC so far and it’s not really close.

Also, I’d love for us to have a kid like Fears on our team. He’s taken every guard that’s been on him to school tonight.

CDS got outcoached by Porter Moser to be honest. CDS walked in with a solid gameplan, but Porter made adjustments on both sides of the ball, neutralized our bigs (and Nait in the middle minutes), and took the game over.

Like what I'm seeing growth-wise from Moose, who is figuring out how the college game works. I think Shag Man gives us some good minutes too but needs to understand his role, which is not playing isoball and chucking 3s. Baye and DO need to figure out how to play more level headed. It's been a problem w/ Baye for 2 seasons now.

Fears, as a 17 year old freshman, is in a different class than any of our guards. No one on our team had any chance of staying in front of him. He also plays with incredible poise for a freshman. I guess that comes from knowing you are better than the guy (or two or three) trying to guard you.

We aren’t going to win many games when we go 12-plus game time minutes without a bucket. I agree AUFC that Porter outcoached CDS. We looked lost in the second half. Ndongo was disappointing. Missed a couple easy shots, and he fouls too much, especially away from the hoop. Powell played a nice game tonight. Mustaf continues to grow. It’s fun watching him mature game after game. I thought we played a great first half, then it all fell apart. SEC is dominating overall.

Definitely needed McCollum and Reeves. Hope they’re back Saturday. Is Sutton going to RS this year or still injured?

Something I thought for a while, which I know will never happen (unfortunately), is bringing in a former GT coach (who's not currently coaching) as one of our assistants that was great at fundamentals and zone defense. The fundamentals of this team and our defense leaves a LOT to be desired. Most GT fans probably know who I'm talking about...Pastner.
