I believe you have done the right thing. I would be annoyed by that as well.

I just saw it posted on GTs page and noticed no one really knew about it. Thought I'd share and make a small pledge. I apologize for the problems it has created.
No apologies needed. I just wanted to make everyone aware of what happened so no one would be surprised.

SPECIAL ALERT...
Please check your credit card and make sure you have not been overbilled for this. I pledged $5 per touchdown and just received notice from my credit card company that $240 has been charged. I am emailing the people behind this fundraiser and requesting a refund and for them to stop any further charges.

You can just write a check for the other $5. Seriously, though, I don't know when you pledged, but we've scored 49 TD's this year, which would be $245 at $5/TD.

Just to give an update, I just spoke to Marisa Smith with choa.org. She explained that the $240 on my account should only be a hold and that they do not actually charge the credit card until the end of the 12-game season. She is going to clarify the Q&A concerning their credit approval procedure. I thanked her for getting back to me and told her that I hope that their fundraiser & Georgia Tech's season were both very successful.

@AE 87 the lesson is that they did not appear to be following their own procedures as far as when they would be charging credit cards for pledges. I grant you math is not my strong suit but I can read and comprehend basic Q&A.:oops::rolleyes::sick:
