The refs hurt us today. Duke was VERY physical on defense and the refs let just about everything go (no blood, then no foul).

I was glad to be there, it was an energetic crowd and this team worked VRY VERY hard. With different refs we win this game. OR if Dani could have settled down and gone 3-9 from three, we win going away. But the physicality of the defense obviously bothered Dani. I think she expected foul calls a number of times and did not know exactly how to respond when they weren’t being called They were taking away what she wanted to do, with their physicality, slapping wrists and arms as well as balls, and she couldn’t figure out what to do.

It’s a learning process, but I have enjoyed being there and SWMBO loves watching these ladies play!

Teams that press don’t like to be pressed. Even though we held Duke to 55 points, it would have been nice if we would have given them some of their own medicine, and maybe create some situations where we could score on transition, instead of just dribbling looking for shots. After all, you take what the refs give you, and we have the depth to play aggressive defense. Disappointed with the coaching strategy, but proud of the effort the ladies put in. If coaches learn the lesson, we have great chances of making an unforgettable run. Go Jackets!

We played really hard, but Duke was not going to let Carnegie, Morgan, or Dunn take over - we got what, 18 points combined from them? Our chances of winning are not good when Smith is the leading scorer. Gotta give a lot of credit to Duke's defense in this game - our offense looked really disjointed; especially in the 4th. We will learn and do better in the future.
