“Ignore” function is a super power

I wish we had a thread specific ignore button. I like to read other's opinions which may be contrary to mine but after reading 3 or 4 of their same gloom & doom posts, I have had enough of them on the thread subject matter but still would like to view the thread, absent their posts, and still read their posts in other threads. I can't think of any member that pisses me off enough to totally ignore in all the threads.

Most of the highlighted words are subjective. To let anyone typing on a key board genuinely make someone that upset says more about the offended than the offender. Sticks and stones brother.
Appears we may disagree on the intentions of the ignorer. I don't need to be upset or offended, or even strongly disagree - maybe I just don't want to waste my time reading repetitive drivel.

Yeah, I don’t I understand purposely not looking at all angles especially regarding something that is a pleasurable past time. Every poster is valid and every thought is viable. But, I also understand a lot of people just want affirmation so I get it. I like being challenged. That’s why my favorite poster is Forensic. We disagree on a few little topics even though in the big scheme we agree on 95% of everything related to GT. That’s what makes message boards fun.
Nope! (To the bolden)

You say that like it was a bad thing!!
You’re still here? I figured that your experiment with putting yourself on ignore would close some sort of time-space loop, and erase you from existence.

If only we could get @kg01 to do that…

Sometimes putting someone on "ignore" is the high road. Much better than getting into an internet argument with a troll or to be triggered by something. It makes my time on this site much more enjoyable, especially since I try to read all the posts and don't just pick and choose. If I find myself selectively skipping a font's posts, that tells me it's time to just put them out of my sphere.
That is the best response and I respect that. Call me f'd up but I half a$$ the isht. If these interactions were face to face instead of key board warriors venting I guarantee you the ignore option would not be needed. The ole comp screen creates a lot of wanna be bullies, tough guys however you want categorize them. Having perspective helps. Lastly ignoring anything creates a blind spot.

I hear you, but the reality is everything in every thread is repetitive drivel. I enjoy it but it’s the exact same stuff every week and every year. Just like 99% of every action we take every day of our lives.

I think I fell through a worm hole or something. I was walking towards the light and felt all peaceful and warm. "Melissa" by the Allman Brothers was playing softly in the background albeit by a Swiss bagpipe band. Unfortunately I spilt my almost empty Manhattan in my lap just before crossing the threshold. After regaining some form of consciousness, I went downstairs and reheated some leftover Hamburger Helper and opened a bag of chips and a bottle of Budweiser. I felt at one with everybody and everything and somehow knew we were all here for a reason. The shame I felt ever since leaving Tech with a 2.4 GPA has been removed from my shoulders and next summer I will encourage the neighborhood children to gather and play on my lawn.

I never felt ashamed of my 2.4. I was proud that I got out. Now judges and juries listen to what I have to say (I think they believe me most of the time). I was just involved on the right side of a $15MM arbitration judgment in Geneva that allowed me to take a vacation and work at the same time.
