  1. From a student’s perspective

South Carolina used to sell out. South Carolina has tens of thousands of empty seats for most games now. I went to a game there this year and there were entire sections empty.
  2. Attrition and Scholarship Limits

Placing our back-up FG kicker on medical whatever is not Alabama-like. Alabama would send him packing. GT would honor his full-ride even though his leg is hurt. And his leg is definitely hurt.
  3. Attrition and Scholarship Limits

Whenever I read these silly sanctimonious responses, I always think to myself Stephon Marbury. If he didn’t cheapen your degree, nothing ever will.
  4. Coach Thacker just turned down the Oregeon DC Job.

Isn’t he a UGA grad/homer? Why would people pay a UGA guy to get unbiased info about GT?
  5. S&P 2019 season projections

There’s actually pretty strong statistical data that suggests Alabama, Clemson, and UGA will all win at least 11 games in the regular season. Similar chances with Ohio State. After that, things get much more speculative.
  6. How GT can be consistent Top 25 in recruiting

LA has been very alluring. Austin is alluring. Atlanta is more alluring. Demographics of college football have changed dramatically the last 25 years. Top 25 schools are made up of 75% or more black kids now. That is a huge change. 40 years ago Alabama had four black players. Think about that.
  7. How GT can be consistent Top 25 in recruiting

Correct. Playing in front of friends and family is the one of the most important reasons kids choose the schools they choose. You might know something about football but you are ignorant about recruiting. Or you could just be an extremely negative Nancy about life.
  8. How GT can be consistent Top 25 in recruiting

There are more top 500 players from metro Atlanta than anywhere besides LA. The goal is to keep those kids at home. It is definitely the Mecca for successful African-Americans.
  9. How GT can be consistent Top 25 in recruiting

Sounds like you don’t like Atlanta. Why do you equate a private school in Chicago with a public school in Atlanta? More NBA and NFL players have second homes in Atlanta than anywhere. More NFL and NBA players retire to Atlanta than anywhere else. Metro Atlanta has grown 10 fold the last 40...
  10. Reservations for this season

I assumed it had to do with hotel and dinner reservation recommendations for each game.
  11. Implications of GT being relevant in recruiting

Well, this staff did just sign I think 8 guys who were not even being actively recruited by GT (Griffin was not going to GT) until after Collins was hired. So, he seems to have enough time and a pretty good plan if his A guy falls through. He wanted Brothers at LB but moved on. He wanted Darkwa...
  12. Implications of GT being relevant in recruiting

I noticed they signed 6 players from GA this year. They seem to be recruiting more nationally like Alabama. I have coached a lot of ball and my sons play travel ball. Never have we been on a team where anywhere close to half of the kids were UGA fans. Specifically, very few black kids grow up...
  13. Implications of GT being relevant in recruiting

UGA is signing like 5 kids a year from Georgia. Most metro Atlanta kids do not really grow up UGA fans. GT is losing lots of kids to Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee, Texas, Stanford, ND, Florida, UNC, Duke, etc. At least half of the top 50 kids can cut it at GT academically no problem. Collins is...
  14. CGC talks with Wes Durham

He is helping his family move to Atlanta. They have been in Philadelphia. His wife and daughter will be around often once they live in Atlanta rather than Philadelphia.
  15. CGC talks with Wes Durham

He said he has not seen his daughter in a month. His wife was down here for the Super Bowl with him.
  16. GT signing day update ...

Signed in December, been in classes at GT for a month.
  17. GA TECH IS BUZZING! | FOOTBALL HOTBED | NATIONAL UNDERCLASSMEN SHOWCASE ..

While it seems like they have been working 3 months, Collins was hired 8 weeks and 1 day ago. Most of the rest of the staff was hired less than 4-5 weeks ago. This makes the job they have done all the more impressive.
  18. Season Tix

104/34. Hoping to move to 106 or 107.
  19. Parker Braun transferring

    Marco Coleman was pretty good.
